East China's Shandong province has recently witnessed a surge in educational travel, turning into a "mobile classroom" for students. This summer holiday, various regions in the province have seen a boom in study tours, with local scenic spots, cultural venues, and study tour organizations offering a wide range of activities to enrich students' vacation experiences and create new trends in the travel market.

In Weifang, a classic reading event brought 30 students to the Qingzhou Museum, where they explored historical artifacts like Longxing Temple Buddhist statues and an exam paper belonging to Zhao Bingzhong of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), who won the title of zhuangyuan (candidates who finished in top place over the years in annual national-level recruitment exams for officials in ancient China) while trying traditional crafts such as rubbing and redrawing.
The Shandong Museum also attracted numerous visitors with its themed study tours and digital exhibitions, including a Sherlock Holmes-themed interactive show and an immersive ocean-themed exhibition. The museum's daily visitor count has significantly increased, with nearly 666,700 visitors over 40 days.
The "Qilu No 1" tourist train, connecting over 200 attractions across 11 cities in Shandong, has become a popular mode of transportation for study tours. A recent three-day marine exploration trip to Weihai saw children enjoying local delicacies and cultural experiences on the train, visiting the city's marine science and technology museum and taking part in a paddleboarding race.
